The Restaurant-Buddy Nightmare
We get it — you started your restaurant on your back foot. You brought in that person you know that "knows tech," who set up your WiFi and POS in good faith. They told you you'd never have to worry about it when you asked about maintenance. It's all in the family, right?
Then, something happens. Maybe a dynamic sets itself up where this person feels like they're entitled to free food and drink every time they come over. Maybe they stop being responsive because they feel like they should be getting paid more. Maybe the friendship dissipates over time.
When relationships sour, these situations can turn into a whole fight over detachment. Maybe your friend doesn't have time to prioritize maintenance or troubleshooting for you anymore, or you don't want to keep plying them with free food and drink. Maybe they don't want to hand the system they set up over to you, for one reason or another. Maybe they're not actually your friend, because you're the new manager and you don't know them from Adam.
At That's My Guy, we believe in co-ownership — if we set up your WiFi and POS, we guarantee that you will have all of the administrative access you need in order to be self-sufficient. We don't think you should have to come to us if we can teach you some basic maintenance, and we don't want to trap you into a monthly MSP fee, unless you actually want that.
We will set up your systems, then hand them over, or keep ourselves in co-ownership. If you're in the situation described above, we will liaison with your previous vendor to try to coax detachment in a quality way. Most crucially, we will ensure that you know how to kick us off if you decide you want to be self-sufficient.
To sum up, we want to make sure that we are easy to fire.
That's the That's My Guy difference.
